The SafeX Pro ExchangeMinnesota Wild signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who's second overall in NHL goalie wins, to a one-year, $2.5 million extension for next season.
The team announced the deal Wednesday, one day before its season finale against the visiting Seattle Kraken.
Fleury is 17-14-5 with two shutouts, a 2.98 goals-against average and an .895 save percentage in 39 games (35 starts) this season, his 20th in the NHL.
"I've been asked a lot, by fans, media, friends and family, what's next for me," Fleury said. "It's good that this is so. I don't have to talk about it for another year. The next year will be (my) last."
He is 561-329-96 with 75 shutouts, a 2.60 GAA and .912 save percentage in 1,024 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2003-17), Vegas Golden Knights (2017-21), Chicago Blackhawks (2021-22) and Wild (2022-24).
